Welcome to Cook With Benchi
Hi! I’m Benchi, the home baker behind Cook With Benchi, a dessert-only corner of the internet where everything revolves around sweet treats. If you love the smell of cookies in the oven, a slice of cake after dinner, or a pan of still-warm brownies on the counter, you’re in the right place.
I’m a US-based home baker, working out of a small, very real home kitchen with the same kind of tools and ingredients you probably have in yours. My goal is to help you bake desserts that feel special but still fit into everyday life.
In the photo above, that’s me in my baking gear, holding the same tools I reach for every day—nothing fancy, just the whisk, spoons, and spatulas that make all the magic happen.

How This All Started
Some of my clearest childhood memories are in the kitchen, standing on a chair to reach the counter while helping mix cookie dough. I still remember the first time I was trusted to bake on my own: a pan of fudgy brownies for a school bake sale. I checked the oven window every two minutes, convinced I had ruined them… but they came out with shiny, crackly tops and the entire pan disappeared in less than 10 minutes.
That feeling—seeing people light up over something I baked—never really left. Over the years, I became the “dessert person” in my family and friend group. Birthdays, potlucks, holidays, random Tuesdays… if there was a gathering, I was probably bringing cookies, cupcakes, or a pie.
In 2025, I finally decided to put all of my recipes, notes, and experiments in one place and share them online. That’s how Cook With Benchi was born: as a way to organize my favorite desserts and to help other home bakers feel confident in the kitchen.

How I Develop and Test Recipes
I know what it feels like to buy ingredients, block off time, and then end up with a disappointing dessert. That’s why I take recipe testing seriously. Every recipe on Cook With Benchi is:
- Tested in a real home kitchen with standard equipment you’re likely to have.
- Written with clear, straightforward instructions and consistent measurements.
- Checked for accuracy in prep time, bake time, and total time.
- Updated over time based on reader feedback and my own re-testing.
I focus on quality over quantity. I don’t promise dozens of new recipes every week—that’s not realistic or helpful. Instead, I add new desserts and improve older ones on a steady, manageable schedule so that each recipe is as clear and reliable as possible.
When I say “we” on this site, I’m usually talking about the small circle of family and friends who taste-test everything, help with photos, and give me honest feedback (“more chocolate,” “less sweet,” “this needs crunch”) before a recipe ever gets published.
For Readers
Cook With Benchi is a family-friendly, ad-supported site. I care a lot about your experience here, which means:
