A savory and crunchy snack mix perfect for Christmas Eve, packed with cereal, pretzels, cheese crackers, and nuts, all tossed in a seasoned butter-oil blend and finished with parmesan cheese. It’s baked low and slow for maximum flavor and crunch.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Shreddies cereal (original flavor)
  • 4 cups mini pretzels
  • 2 cups salted mixed nuts
  • 3 cups cheese crackers (Cheese Nips or Cheez-Its)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried red chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Place the Shreddies cereal, pretzels, nuts, and cheese crackers on the baking sheet and toss gently to combine.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, dried oregano, dried parsley, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the wet mixture evenly over the dry mix and toss well to coat everything.
  5. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring gently every 15 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
  6. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the warm mix and toss to combine.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
