This easy crab salad recipe is creamy, refreshing, and ready in minutes. Made with imitation or real crab, celery, mayo, and lemon, it’s perfect as a dip, sandwich filling, or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds crab meat (or imitation crab meat)
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup Best Foods mayonnaise (or Hellmann’s)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh dill, optional, to taste

Instructions

  • Break the imitation crab meat into small pieces with your hands or coarsely chop with a knife, blender, or food processor.
  • Finely chop the celery.
  • In a large bowl, toss crab, celery, salt, and pepper together.
  • Stir in mayonnaise and lemon juice until crab is evenly coated.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, replace some mayo with Greek yogurt or sour cream.
  • Add Old Bay seasoning, celery salt, or hot sauce for extra flavor.
  • Chill at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
  • Serve in lettuce cups, as a dip with crackers, in sandwiches, or tossed with pasta.
  • Do not freeze as the mayonnaise base does not thaw well.
