Oreo Balls for Christmas

Oreo Balls for Christmas

Oreo Balls for Christmas are festive, no-bake chocolate truffles made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and melted chocolate. These bite-sized treats are creamy on the inside, coated in rich chocolate, and decorated with holiday sprinkles or candy canes for a perfect Christmas dessert.

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies (regular, not Double Stuf)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips or candy melts (for coating)
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes or Christmas-themed sprinkles (for decoration)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush them in a ziplock bag using a rolling pin.
  2. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and add softened cream cheese. Mix with a hand mixer until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture, then roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Refrigerate the rolled Oreo balls for 30 minutes to help them firm up before coating.
  5. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Place them back on parchment paper to set.
  7. While the coating is still wet, sprinkle with crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles. If desired, drizzle melted white chocolate over the top for decoration.
  8. Allow the Oreo balls to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for a smooth filling texture.
  • To avoid cracked coatings, let the chilled Oreo balls sit at room temperature for a few minutes before dipping in chocolate.
  • Oreo Balls can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Add peppermint or vanilla extract to the mixture for extra flavor.
