Oreo Cookie Balls

Oreo Cookie Balls

Oreo Cookie Balls are creamy, no-bake chocolate truffles made with crushed Oreo cookies, softened cream cheese, and a smooth chocolate coating. These bite-sized treats deliver a rich, velvety texture and a perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. They’re ideal for holidays, parties, or anytime you need an easy dessert that looks impressive.

Ingredients

  • 30 Oreo cookies
  • 5–6 oz (140–170 g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 10–12 oz (280–340 g) chocolate of choice (dark, white, milk, or semi-sweet)
  • Optional: sprinkles, crushed Oreos, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or candy drizzle for decoration

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and prepare space in your refrigerator or freezer for chilling.
  2. Place 30 Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed, resembling damp sand.
  3. Add 5 oz softened cream cheese to the crushed cookies and blend until smooth and uniform. Add up to 1 oz more cream cheese if needed for consistency.
  4. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to form 1-inch balls. Roll until smooth and place them on the lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill the Oreo balls for 15–20 minutes in the refrigerator or 10 minutes in the freezer until firm.
  6. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler over medium heat or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  7. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate using a fork, tapping off excess. Place back on parchment paper and decorate if desired.
  8. Refrigerate the coated truffles for 10–15 minutes until the chocolate hardens. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • For gluten-free truffles, use certified gluten-free Oreo-style cookies.
  • Vegan or dairy-free versions can be made with plant-based cream cheese and dairy-free chocolate.
  • Add ½ teaspoon of neutral oil to melted chocolate for a smoother coating.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Thaw frozen Oreo Cookie Balls in the fridge to prevent condensation on the chocolate.
