Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy is a hearty, comforting dish made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich, savory gravy. Perfect for busy nights, it’s simple to prepare and pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 (0.87 ounce) packet chicken gravy mix
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth until smooth.
  • Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chicken in the slow cooker and pour the gravy mixture over the top, ensuring the chicken is fully coated.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
  • Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and stir it back into the gravy.
  • Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
  • Use low-sodium broth and gravy mix to reduce salt content.
  • Add mushrooms or vegetables during the last hour of cooking for variety.
  • Stir in sour cream or cream cheese at the end for a creamier gravy.
