Smoked Gouda and Apple Crostini is a simple yet elegant appetizer featuring melted smoked gouda on toasted baguette slices, topped with crisp Honeycrisp apple slices and a drizzle of honey. This sweet and savory bite-sized treat is perfect for holiday gatherings or casual wine nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, cut into 1/2” slices
  • 1/2 lb smoked gouda slices, cut in half
  • 1 Honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Optional: honey for drizzle

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  • Top each baguette slice with half a slice of smoked gouda.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  • Remove from oven and top each slice with one apple slice.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
  • Optional: Drizzle with honey before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute smoked gouda with Fontina, Manchego, Gruyère, or aged Cheddar cheese.
  • Honeycrisp apples are recommended for their sweetness and firm texture.
  • Toast the baguette slightly before baking for extra crunch.
