Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies

These Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies are a festive take on the classic chocolate chip cookie. They combine semisweet and white chocolate chips with optional holiday sprinkles for a sweet, chewy treat perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Holiday sprinkles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Add holiday sprinkles if desired.
  8. Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft but will set as they cool.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking helps create thicker cookies.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
