  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Equipment

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain the excess fat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked noodles and 1½ cups of cheddar cheese. Stir gently until evenly coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly and top with the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  8. Sprinkle the French-fried onions evenly over the top. Bake for an additional 7 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
  9. Let the casserole cool slightly. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve warm.
