- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 10-12 minutes until crispy but not burnt. Drain on paper towels and chop into bite-sized pieces.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool.
- While pasta cooks, halve cherry tomatoes, chop romaine lettuce, slice green onions thinly, and shred cheddar cheese if needed.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooled pasta, bacon pieces, tomatoes, lettuce, green onions, and cheddar cheese. Pour ranch dressing over and gently toss to coat evenly.
- Season with black pepper and salt to taste, keeping in mind bacon and ranch add saltiness.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld before serving.
