Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time until fully combined. Add vanilla extract and red gel food coloring, mixing well.
  4. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the bowl. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no streaks remain.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chunks or chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before frosting or slicing.
  9. For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until creamy and smooth.
  10. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until light and fluffy.
  11. Spread the frosting over cooled brownies, then cut into squares and serve.
