Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the German chocolate cake mix, milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips evenly over the batter.
  5. In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, coconut, pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon, if using. Mix well.
  6. Carefully spoon the coconut and pecan mixture evenly over the cake batter. Do not stir.
  7. Place the thin slices of butter evenly across the top.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes, or until the cake is set around the edges and the center is slightly gooey. The coconut should be lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for 20 minutes.
  10. Spoon warm servings into dessert bowls. Top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, extra toasted pecans, and toasted coconut. Enjoy while warm.
