Cinnamon Bread

Amish Cinnamon Bread is a sweet and comforting loaf, filled with a cinnamon-sugar swirl that gives it a rich, tender texture. This easy recipe is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon with the brown sugar.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter into the pan and top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon-sugar through the batter.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour.
  • You can freeze Amish Cinnamon Bread for up to 3 months by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil.
  • If you want a more decadent bread, try adding a cream cheese glaze on top once it cools.
